San José is the capital city of Costa Rica, and is the preferred destination among foreign gentleman for meeting ladies. Easily navigated on foot, the upscale Barrio Amon district is full of hotels, bar and entertainment.
So accommodating to English speaking tourists and expats, the area is often called the “Gringo Gulch”.
- Much of the action in San Jose is centered around the Del Rey Hotel and Sportsmens Lodge. Both venues are within a ten minute walk of each other.
- At night the Key Largo Bar hosts live music and starts to draw a large crowd by 10pm.
- During the day there are many venues where the local ladies, affectionately refereed to as “Ticas” provide massage and other services. The more popular venues are New Fantasy and Zona Two.
- Several low priced “night clubs” provide live entertainment and on-site rooms. Being prepared is important, in order to avoid the clip joints that pay commissions to taxi drivers.
