People who talk about the good old days aren’t talking about sex. It’s true that it felt just as good 60 years ago as it does now. But as far as attitudes went, the ‘good old days’ were also pretty much the ‘dark ages.’
For example, take a look at the old TV shows, shows like Ozzie and Harriet, I Love Lucy and the Dick Van Dyke Show. Married couples sleeping in twin beds. For that matter, when Lucy was pregnant, the censors didn’t allow anybody on the show to use the word ‘pregnant.’
I recall a neighbor kid whose father had a subscription to Playboy. Hot damn! My friend kept a careful eye out and had amassed a large collection himself, which he graciously let the other kids in the neighborhood look at. In those bygone days, we were happy happy just to see nipples. The pubic area was always hidden or airbrushed. At the time, though, the sight of breast flesh was enough. I have read that there was a time, long ago, when even the sight of an ankle was considered risque.

Fast forward a bit, and it became possible to see actual genitalia. But I recall going to an ‘adult’ book store and seeing magazines sold that stopped short of depicting actual intercourse. This was in the late 70s. Soon after that the VCR brought hard core into the privacy of anyone’s home. The ‘adult entertainment’ industry went through a boom as their ‘product’ was no longer limited to cheesy theaters in cheesy neighborhoods.
Then, within another decade, the wonders of the internet manifested themselves, and soon people were buying little video cameras and sharing just about anything they could think up. Entrepreneurs realized that nothing sells like sex, and hardcore became harder to avoid than to find.
I can’t imagine girls from my high school days passing around nude selfies, but it sure appears that girls and women are willing or even eager to do things on camera that they would have been much to shy to do even in private, years ago.
It’s a darn shame I got older and lost my appeal with the young babes, but the problem isn’t modern times, it’s my old time body and face. Thank heaven a willingness to pay makes up for the ravages of age. It’s all good.
