In his book, “Sex, Travel & Latin American Women,” author Jason Bennet gives us his take on the mongering scene in Latin America, as experienced by gringos. As someone who has written extensively on the topic, I would say his experiences and perspective are in line with most of what I have seen and heard in my years living “the life.” No two individuals are the same, but taking that into account, his description of what one might expect in Latin America paints a reasonable picture.

If you are like me, you will probably skim over the Latin American history section. Other readers unfamiliar with the region’s history may find it more interesting than I did. There is nothing wrong with the section, per se, but I suspect readers interested in the subject are probably already familiar with it. Still, it may be new and interesting to some, and it’s there, in any case.
The book is about standard length for this sort of thing, and the price is very reasonable. Inside you’ll read about gringos who have made the most of their interactions in Latin America, and some who haven’t fared so well. Jason gives us some object lessons of gringos who have stumbled into situations over their heads, and others who have avoided the many pitfalls that can ensnare the unwary.
If you haven’t already read a mountain of books on the subject, this book is a decent introduction. If you HAVE read a mountain of books on the subject, you may have an insatiable appetite for them, and at $2.99, this one is worth the price.
