Wait… Do I hear you say you aren’t looking for “love?” That’s okay. As you can see, I put the word in quotes.

Everyone must be aware that you can meet people via the internet. I’ve been at it a LOOOONNNGGGG time. It was almost immediately after getting my first, shaky, internet connection that I began to ‘meet’ females. This was in the mid to late 90s. The ‘technology’ has progressed a lot, but the motivation is still the same… people wanting to meet other people for love, romance and/or sex.

Even when the worldwide web was in its infancy, there were other ways to meet people. My own method was something called IRC, which stands for Internet Relay Chat. I was interested in meeting people from around the world, and IRC was great for that. Those who weren’t using internet in the dark ages might find it strange that virtually nobody had a digital camera, and few had scanners or even access to a scanner. But that’s how it was.

But let’s fast forward to now. There are apps you can put on your smartphone and there are websites that specialize in ‘hooking people up.’ As a matter of fact, there are far too many to mention. But a couple of the most popular here in Colombia are Badoo and Tinder. In my own case, I ended up using Badoo. It’s free to join, but intentionally limited to encourage you to ‘upgrade.’ I had been playing with the free version and decided to pay a little for an upgrade, to see what I might come up with.

What I did come up with wasn’t very tantalizing, for the most part. I am in my 60s, and the majority of the women who were interested in me were rather past their prime, to put it gently. This didn’t surprise me much. But I was hoping to meet an attractive ‘mature’ woman (40s, maybe) or a young one who was looking to ‘date’ an older guy for $$$.

As expected, I had no problem attracting grandmother types. But really, I could have stayed in the States and done that. But that wasn’t my goal, so I passed on quite a few and kept looking. I am running out of space for this post, but I will say that I eventually did have a little luck, which I will go into in more detail next week. Sorry to keep you hanging. I’ve ‘discovered’ an area here in Medellin where there are dozens of bars populated with women of varying levels of attractiveness, who, so they tell me, make their money by enticing customers to buy them drinks and receiving commissions. It sounds something like a classic clip joint except the cost of the ‘drinks’ or ‘beers’ is pretty small… three or four dollars, tops. And for that, while you’re buying, a chica will sit with you, talk to you, and dance with you if you get the notion.

There are so many of these places and so may girls that it’s hard to understand the business model, or just what the girls are offering. I say this primarily because of what I was NOT able to do, that is, convince a cute eighteen year old to spend some ‘intimate’ time with me. She insisted that this was the norm. Well, perhaps and perhaps not.

I feel like I should be able to figure this out, being able to at least converse on an intermediate level in Spanish. But one problem I run into is that most of these bars play their radios (or whatnot) at ear shattering level. I don’t mean to imply that this makes them any different than almost every other bar I have walked past. It’s only that carrying on a conversation in a foreign language under such circumstances is somewhere between challenging and impossible.

So…I found one bar that was a bit less LOUD than the others, and struck up an acquaintance with the eighteen year old I mentioned before. It took me two visits and a sort-of date with her to see that she wasn’t on the market, though she’s quite friendly and sweet. In any case, I can’t really believe that there are a hundred girls in this one area who are all adverse to making a little money by getting intimate with a customer. Certainly the area, with it’s numerous “love” hotels, is equipped to handle such a situation. In any event, I plan to take some ear plugs and check out some of the other bars. I promise to report back on my results.

As it just so happened, though, I was sitting in the bar I mentioned on a Sunday afternoon when three gringos walked by out front, whom I recognized immediately, and after getting their attention, they joined me and my 18yo for a drink. All three guys were fellow mongers from San Jose, Costa Rica, who now make their homes in Medellin. One of them, who is bilingual, assured me that indeed the girls in the bars were available, that I had just come across the exception. I do hope he’s right. And though it may take time, I plan to do the research. Stay tuned for further developments.

Not long ago I recounted an encounter with a pretty lame ‘escort’ here in Medellin. I found her advertisement on one of the multitude of ‘escort/prepago’ sites online. No need to repeat myself here, but just to recap, she LOOKED reasonably like her pictures, but her performance was NOTHING like what she promised.

Obviously, I didn’t want to repeat with that one, but I had had luck more often than not before, so I wasn’t discouraged. I stumbled upon a website that was essentially dedicated to doing reviews of ‘escorts,’ and one of the girls who got a 5 star recommendation was ‘Tatiana.’ Her photos were attractive, definitely. No face shown, but the body looked very solid and well proportioned. She was a ‘morena,’ which basically means only that she has dark skin. From the pictures, I couldn’t tell if she was a ‘negrita’ or simply a dark skinned Latina. As it turned out, she was a mix of both. I was ready for whatever, and I wasn’t disappointed.

When she came in the room, she was wearing a great big smile, along with a sexy little outfit that I found quite, ah, stimulating. The smile seemed totally genuine, and she never once lost her sweet attitude in our hour together.

Unlike some other chicas I have been with, she was not in a hurry and she was anything but mechanical. Although I was paying her, the overall feel of our session was GFE all the way. There wasn’t a single moment of awkwardness… well, maybe a couple of little ‘oops’ moments, but we proceeded totally unfazed. I felt very comfortable being with her and she seemed very comfortable with me. I suspect she’s pretty comfortable with everybody, but that didn’t make me appreciate her any less.

So, after my bunk experience the previous time with ‘Sandra,’ I felt like I was back on track with ‘Tatiana.’ I look forward to seeing her again. Maybe not tomorrow or even next week, but when I want a nice GFE time, I know where I can go.

I have mentioned before how open Colombia is regarding advertising of sex work. I have also mentioned that there are numerous online sites where you can see pictures and read descriptions of those offering their services.

At any rate, I find it enjoyable to do a fair amount of virtual window shopping at some of these sites. And once in a while, for one reason or another, I decide to pull the trigger on one of these escorts, which was the case with ‘Sandra.’

Looking at her picture, I could see that she was long-legged and solidly built. Her description said she was 178 cm tall, maybe 5′ 9″ or more. I like tall girls. But beyond that, in her several ads she described herself in ways that sounded like what I prefer. I will put some of it here, translated from the Spanish:

I offer you kisses rich and passionate as if you were my boyfriend, rich and ardent caresses… In me you will find the ideal lover… best of all I love sex! I am passionate, playful and sweet.

As far as looking like her picture, she did, if you added 10 or 15 lbs. Still nice looking but not the hot body in the pictures. As far as offering rich passionate kisses like she would give her boyfriend, the only boyfriend who would be happy with her kisses would be one who disliked kissing. She gave me one at the beginning, and that was it. Ardent caresses? Nothing came close. Ideal lover?  Maybe for a wham bam thank you mam type. Not me. And… love sex? You would never know it from having sex with her. She even admitted that she almost never has an orgasm, even with a boyfriend. If that’s loving sex, I’m the Duke of Earl. And she was neither passionate, playful, nor sweet.

In her defense, she was clean, had smooth skin and her apartment was nice. She was polite and if she didn’t have a great attitude, she didn’t have a horrible one either. But, bottom line, you can’t believe everything you read. Luckily I only paid about $35 for my hour with the nice looking iceberg. Chalk another one up to experience and onward!
