Shooting at Del Rey Hotel in Costa Rica
A group of men driving an Audi sports car with no license plates fired nine rounds from a pistol into the Del Rey Hotel.
A security guard was injured, and although the assailants attempted to flee were captured a short distance from the abandoned vehicle in Parque Okayama, which lies in an industrial zone between Desamparados and Curridabat.
Speculation is that the young men are locals that were declared persona non grata by the management after they got out of hand.

San Jose’s finest were at it again at the Del Rey Hotel in San Jose last night. The sweep took about an hour, and during this time the patrons were asked to remain on the premises.
The word is none of the tourists were asked to show identification, however some were a little bothered about having to wait it out.

Located three blocks behind San Pedro Mall, Hooters is an easy $4 taxi trip from the gringo gulch. Be careful that the driver doesn’t go to the Escazu location, which will run $25 in taxi fare and possibly a huge traffic jam. If there is any doubt, just say San Pedro mall, go around back and then walk three blocks parallel to the main road.
